Coachella, Stagecoach Music Festivals Rescheduled for April 2021
Coachella and Stagecoach promoter Goldenvoice confirmed the 2021 dates for their twin festivals on Thursday.
“Now Coachella’s first weekend will be April 9-11, 2021, and the second weekend will be April 16-18, 2021,” he said today. “Stagecoach is scheduled for April 23-25, 2021. We look forward to sharing our new lineups and more information. We can’t wait to find ourselves in the desert when it is safe. “
He said all Coachella & Stagecoach 2020 passes would be accepted for next year’s events. Stagecoach 2021 festival tickets are available at Tickets4festivals.
PREVIOUS, June 10, 10 p.m. .: The Coachella Music and Arts Festival and its sister country music festival Stagecoach, which initially postponed their spring dates due to the coronavirus outbreak, are officially canceled. The order came Wednesday night from the Riverside County (CA) public health official.
The two SoCal events, essential on the music festival calendar, had decided in March to postpone their dates to October, the COVID-19 turning into a global health crisis. Both events are held annually at the 78-acre Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.
Goldenvoice is the promoter of both programs.
“This Order perceives that the Coachella Music and Arts Festival and the Stagecoach Country Music Festival are shows and music social affairs of worldwide height, pulling in a huge number of members from many countries, many of whom are disproportionately affected by the pandemic. Global COVID-19,”read the order from Dr. Cameron Kaiser, Riverside County health official. He included: “If COVID-19 were recognized at these festivals, the degree and number of participants and the idea of the scene would make following the individuals who might be at risk impractical, if not impossible.”
Kaiser said Riverside County currently has 9,590 confirmed coronavirus cases and 365 deaths.
This year’s Coachella featured headliners such as Rage Against the Machine, Megan Thee Stallion, Run the Jewels, Calvin Harris, Travis Scott, Thom Yorke, 21 Savage, Danny Elfman, Frank Ocean, Lana Del Rey, Lil Nas X, FKA Twigs, Fatboy Slim and others. California continues to make its way through a gradual reopening of the state amid the pandemic. Most of the state is in Phase 2, and stores and restaurants are starting to reopen with restrictions. The concerts and other major events, especially sports, are in the final phase 4 of the reopening, this date being still unknown.
