*The person should be compared to his picture. Hairstyle of people may change, but we should always keep this in mind that facial feature of a person never changes. So, the investigator should focus his attention on the nose and eyes of a person.

* One should be careful about the expiration date. Often, it is seen that the license of a person has expired long back. This signifies that, he has borrowed this license from another person. Other thing that one must do is to check whether an ID is marked as duplicate or not. A duplicate ID basically indicates that the original license holder has requested for a 2nd license so that another person can use it.

* It is always better to keep a latest report of drivers’ license details. This is because while checking one’s ID, this license details help a lot. It is necessary to compare the date of birth against the chauffeurs’ license number. This is done because the forgers usually forget to change this personal detail.

*If you are not sure, it is better to ask that person for a 2nd or 3rd form of ID. You can also check his credit card.

* If you smell something wrong you can always ask different questions to the suspected person, such as, his year of graduation, zodiac sign, initial name.
