The premier curriculum of Pacific West Institute that is eligible for post-9/11 V.A. benefits is the Certified Executive Security Specialist (CESS) Course. The CESS curriculum provides academic and practical training for jobs in high-end security fields such as Executive Protection, Household Protection, Executive Driving, Digital Surveillance Countermeasures, etc. Our faculty comprises former military personnel from the United States and Israel who strive to mentor our learners toward achievement in high-end security.

We aim to help our learners get a job and obtain profitable employment. Participants will participate in a training program that offers practical teaching from former members of the Secret Service and Special Forces of the United States and Israel. Our team of teachers has modified their expert weapons experience to provide Executive Protection for prominent Hollywood stars.

Classes Included in the CESS Program:

Executive Protection Basics (EP 1, 2)

Learners who complete this curriculum will receive introductory security training and a thorough grasp of executive protection. Students get a firsthand introduction to high-end, VIP, and celebrity protection in a regular civilian setting.

Superior executive protection (EP 3, 4, 5, 6, 7)

The seminar will go through contractor activities, advancing client-frequented areas, surveillance and counter-surveillance tactics, client protection in high-threat circumstances, and armed reaction drills.

Permit for Exposed Firearms by CA BSIS (F.A. 1, 2)

Students may obtain a state license for an unprotected weapon permit. A person cannot carry a gun on the job, loaded or unloaded, even if licensed or registered in the security industry, unless they obtain exposed firearm permission from the California Department of Consumer Affairs. 

Advanced Course on Firearms (F.A. 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9)

The Advanced Handgun Shooting Tactics Course is created to test and reinforce the basic skills required for the scenarios that security professionals are most likely to experience. The acquired skills are connected through stress-based scenario training with airsoft, UTM, and live ammunition.

Advanced Course on Firearms (F.A. 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9)

The Advanced Handgun Shooting Tactics Course is created to test and reinforce the basic skills required for the scenarios that security professionals are most likely to experience. The acquired skills are connected through stress-based scenario training with airsoft, UTM, and live ammunition. The curriculum for the training is based on Israeli Tactics principles.

Program in Emergency Vehicle Operation (EVOC 1, 2)

Enrolling in this program will receive classroom training and hands-on experience operating vehicles. Students will practice high-speed driving maneuvers and strategies applicable to executive security and criminal justice situations.

12-Day Comprehensive Security Training

It takes 104 hours to complete the Comprehensive Security Training (CST) Course. This 12-day course aims to give candidates for entry-level positions in the security industry the most realistic and useful fundamentals possible.

BASIS Guard Card in C.A.

The first step toward a security job is completing this security training program. The programB2880-compliant has received certification from California’s Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS). The state certifies graduates as security officers.

Permit for Exposed Firearms by CA BSIS (F.A. 1, 2)

The training offers State Certification for a license to carry an unsecured handgun. Even if a person has a license or region in the security industry, they are not allowed to carry a gun on the job, loaded or unloaded, unless the Department of Consumer Affairs has granted them uncovered firearm permission. 

Baton Permit from CA BSIS

The knowledge and skills needed to carry a baton successfully are taught in this training. PWA instructors provide practical instruction and baton practice. You will obtain an ASC Certificate of Completion and a California Baton Permit from BSIS.

Possession and Control

The fundamentals of handling disputes, handcuffing, and managing a suspect while carrying out guard responsibilities are covered in this course.

ECC AHA

As a first responder, develop the knowledge and skills necessary to administer CPR techniques that can save lives. Each student receives first aid instruction, CPR instruction, and practice using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) from an American Heart Association Instructor during the course.

Taser

A security training program educates you on how to defend yourself without using force using a Taser. Three categories make up the curriculum: teaching, presentation, and scenario technique.

Sexual assault

This program discusses federal and state laws that aim to stop sexual violence, harassment, and punishment in the workplace.

Biological Agents

Obtain your O.C. (Oleoresin Capsicum) pepper spray certification. The student gains practical instruction and knowledge of chemical agents while learning how to carry a chemical agent safely.

Do I need a license to be an executive protection agent in the U.S.?

Yes, to work as a security, a license is now required in every state in the U.S. However, becoming security does not require special training. Candidates can work in this sector if they have completed high school or a comparable.

Before becoming a bodyguard, candidates must be licensed. Additionally, certain states may require college accreditation for bodyguards. The states have different licensing requirements.
